Performance Notes
Jurassic park was one of many collaborations between composer John Williams and director Steven Spielberg. The movie (after a story by Michael Crichton) was a hit at the box office, and led to sequels and more collaborations between Williams and Spielberg. This is an arrangement of the opening titles and main theme, excluding the atmospheric much and starting straight in with the horn solo. It is in the original key (F major horn pitch), and nine bars in, the main theme can be found in horns 3 and 4, and subsequently gets passed around to everybody. As is usual in film music, most of the parts are (at least) doubled, and this is the case here as well. This is definitely something interesting for Williams fans, and lovers of good music. The arrangement is a bit on the basic side, but all the main lines are present - which makes it accessible for more ensembles.
